After upgrading my inspiron 15 n5050 to windows 10, the monitor does not display anything

the monitor is pitch black, yet the operating system runs perfectly fine. If I hook up a HDMI cord from the laptop to a TV the display is perfect. Windows doesn't recognize that there are two screens when the HDMI cable is attached. Do you guys have any ideas to fix the problem?

Hi,

Press Windows + P together and select either Duplicate or Extended display since your laptop might not be automatically switching automatically to the setting your trying to do.
