I've been having a lot of problems with games crashing recently. As part of trying to sort that out, I upgraded to the beta drivers of Catalyst, version 12.11. The good news is that I haven't had any game crashes since then. The problem though is that I've been having issues where when I put the computer to sleep, and then wake it back up, it doesn't wake the monitors up correctly.
Most of the time when I do that, they just don't come back on at all. Occasionally, one of the two will come on, but the colors will be really screwed up, or it will be so dark, you can barely see anything. Unplugging/Re-plugging them doesn't seem to help. If I reboot, it all goes back to normal. But That always requires just powering off the computer, which obviously isn't good for the computer. Plus, it's annoying to have to do that frequently.
The only hint I can find as to why it's happening come when the monitors do come on, albeit screwy. When the screen shows up, there is a message about a driver not being installed correctly. I don't know if that's a video driver, or a monitor driver. But I suspect that's the culprit in this problem.
Any ideas? Suggestions? I'd hate to go back to 12.10 with the problems it was giving me, but this might be worse in many ways.
