After windows 10 update my laptop cant recognize my mic anymore

I have a Sennheiser headset with a built in microphone which i usually use when i am talking with my friends while gaming. I was using it just earlier today. But after my laptop updated a few hours ago i've been unable to use my mic since the realtek high definition mic has been set to the laptops internal mic. I am not sure on what to do

Assuming Windows 10:

● Right mouse-click the volume icon in the System Notification area, near the clock in the lower right hand corner of the display, and choose Sounds.

● In the Sound dialog window that opens up, choose the Recording tab.

● On the Recording tab, left mouse-click the audio device associated with your Sennheiser headset to choose the correct microphone you wish to use for input, then click the Set Default button.

● Click Ok to close the Sound dialog window.

The problem is that the only other device shown here is the laptops internal mic
