Afterburner: GPU power limit indicated, but power percentage lower than set limit

Hey guys,

first of all, thanks for all the help i already recieved from you guys, really enjoy posting questions in here!

I recently got a new psu, the corsair rm650x.
I got a custom watercooled 1080, with voltage and power limit set to 120%.

Today i noticed something strange on my afterburner monitoring osd. It shows the power is fluctuating at 80 - 110%, but my power limit indicator is 1 the whole time. I think I never saw that happen before.

I mean sure, I know theres correlation between voltage (which limit is 1 almost all the time when the card has warmed up) and the power that is being drawn, but why does it indicate power-limit 1 even though im only utilizing like 80%, and then it spikes to 110% in like no time whilst remaining powerlimit 1? But I think I haven't noticed any performance decrease either.

Can this be a problem with my psu (again), afterburner, the gpu itself, or is this normal and I just haven't noticed that before?

Thanks

Solution
Hi, It's normal. You shouldn't monitor that. That power limit usage is different from the power limit percentage.

1 means you need more than 100% power, 0 means you don't. It's binary language, 1=yes, 0=no.
