My friend is getting 780 and would sell his 760 for $100. Problem is it is a reference cooler and it heats up. Is it a good deal?Should I just save up and buy EVGA, MSI, Gigabyte or Asus?

Solution
Sounds like a good deal if its relatively new, even as a reference cooler. You could always buy an aftermarket cooler with the card and then replace the stock cooler with it. The only thing you need to ask yourself is if a 760 is enough performance for you. You can't really get much better for $100 even if its a used card, and you could do a lot worse. I would recommend taking him up on that offer.

I'd jump all over that for $100 and leave the stock cooler.

If you want more juice later the drop in another 760 for SLI. I just did that for fun. Performance in the same area as the 780, but lower cost, especially with that $100 deal!
