If I put a 50% sell on clause on a player, what would happen if bid for
that player in the future?

E.g.

Sell player to ManU for £500k, with 50% sell on clause.
Buy player next year for £2m - theoritically £1m of that money comes
back to me?

Is that the way it works?

Yep should do, though in CM03/04 it would only count the upfront amount not
any addons or monthly installments.

I presume so, and to complicate matters more, give manchester united a 50%
sell on clause, if you sell him again 😉
