Hi All

Thinking about getting NWN for myself and kids. I notice that the game has a
rating of either 12+ or 15 !
Is this due to violence or difficulty in playing? I can't believe it is
either.

There's a bordello in chapter 1 of the original campaign. There are
two girls and a guy for hire although it's all dialogue and it doesn't
get dirty.

In Hordes of the Underdark there are two possible romances (one for
male PC's, one for female), again nothing dirty but there is
definitely some innuendo. The romances do have some plot effects but
they are not essential to the game.

Err...there are *two* romance options for male PCs *and* you can romance
them both *and* you can get them to agree to "share your bed". That's
not innuendo.

Although, some still might not consider it "dirty". 😉

Two??? What other female is around besides Aribeth? Can you bring
that N-something drow into hell? I've never tried her as a henchman,
I didn't realize you even could.

In order:

Yes, two. Nathyrra. Yes. Yes, she makes a very good henchperson. I
played the game twice and used her and Aribeth as my henchpersons both
times (I was playing a tank both times, so I didn't need Valen and I
find Deekin annoying).

.... as long as you told her to fix her weird multiclassing choices!

Also, FWIW, there is a "gore" setting that can be reduced and locked via
password. On high gore the blood splatters and flying bones can be
impressive. I'm not sure what the low gore setting looks like. 😉

On anything lower than the high gore, whenever there should be "gibbing" the
character just falls down on the ground dead. However, personally I don't
think that the gore in "high gore" is really that much in NWN. Really, you
don't see anything other than several irregular red shapes, some bones and
blood. *shrug*

There is a higher setting, that gives you more blood. Can't remember what
it's called, but to access it, edit the nwnplayer.ini file found in the main
NWN folder and set:

Memory Level=2
Memory Access=2

These should be at the start of the file, in the [Game Options] section. As
always, if unsure about "fiddling", back up the file first.
