Maybe bitdefender is a little stronger, but I think had some stupid requirements. As for malwarebytes, what it does depends on whether you have free or paid version, personally I dislike the realtime protection things, but they seem to do things that the usual scans don't do.
Also, when we say 'run', let's be accurate - 'run' a total scan of the system, right? This includes all hard drives & partitions, with all niches, roots, rootkits, cookies, detecting all registry changes, pups & so on with quarantines in case of finding s.th.
There was a similar trash (not so aggressive) recently, that I got rid of with
the adwcleaner of Malwarebytes:

In case it doesn't manage to find something, it can do some resets, like for winsock.
