AGP 4x help

I have a gigabyte 60XE mb with the latest bios and a Geforce 2 pro again with latest bios and Nvidia drivers. My problem is I can't get the video card to run in 4x AGP. It stays in 2x according to WCPUID. The bios is set to allow 4x and I tried forcing it with the Geforce tweaker program. Is there a way to force this in the registry? (I am running win98se with all the latest updates.)

okay well...dont run the latest drivers...you should be using version 23.11 with anything but a Geforce 4 in which case you use 27.5+

Detonator drives default to the fastest your setup can support, so there's a speedbump somewhere, it could be the drivers, or, it could be the agp slot. I'm not familiear with Gigabyte boards, but check the website and make sure it supports 4x not just 2x...

The board supports 4x, in fact I have another machine with an identical setup except a Radeon 64m DDR and it runs in 4x. I'll try other nvidia drivers.
