I have a 1998 vintage Dell desktop with the Intel 440BX chip set and a
2X AGP bus. I installed a Radeon 9000 Pro w/128 MB video card that I
had lying around from a different upgrade. During boot after the
installation of the drivers and software, I got a message that said
there was an AGP bus failure and that the acceleration features could
not be enabled. DirectX information page has the acceleration features
greyed out and marked as disabled.
I found an Intel driver upgrade for the 440BX chip set that includes
AGP bus drivers. Everything installed OK, but the AGP bus failure
message still appears during boot after the ATI driver and software
installation.
Any insight will be appreciated.
