AGP Texture Acceleration

In DX9.0b and with 53.03 drivers, on my GF2 MX 400, AGP Texture Acceleration is grayed out and not available. After uninstalling video drivers and via4in1 drivers, then reinstalling via, dx9, and 53.03, it is still grayed out... I am starting to think that AGP Texture Acceleration is not available on this older card. Unlike the TnT user from a different thread, I do get 3D Acceleration. This GF2 is on my 3rd computer, and I have not played with it for a while, so I do not remember if this feature has ever been available with other drivers and directx versions. My work computer is using a GF4 MX 400, and it is not available here either... but my GF4 Ti4200 and ATI 9500 cards at home both have it.

Is anyone with a GF2 MX or GF4 MX card getting AGP Texture acceleration?

Apart from the VIA drivers, did you install any other drivers? Like AGP drivers, IDE drivers, etc..?

there should be AGP Acceleration support for those cards.
Maybe there's a problem with DIRECTX. Does this happen to you with older DX versions.

does running in PCI mode disables AGP Acceleration?

I will get rid of DX9 and go back to DX8.1 to see. I miss 3dMark2001SE anyway... The VIA 4in1 has the needed AGP driver.

I will give it another go, this time uninstalling video drivers, then DX9, then VIA 4in1, and then reinstall VIA, DX, and NVDIA in that order.

Last time, I uninstalled video drivers and VIA4in1 drivers... but I did not remove DX. I only reinstalled DX; I did not remove it from my system and then install fresh.

But should I use DX8.1 instead of 9.0b... I would sure like to get Halo going on this system, and it needs DX9.0b...

just try reinstalling it and see if it works.
if NOT then there's something wrong.

Everytime I Fresh install a new OS I always follow this steps tho:

1.) Monitor Driver
2.) AGP Driver
3.) Graphics Driver
4.) DirectX Driver

But should I use DX8.1 instead of 9.0b... I would sure like to get Halo going on this system, and it needs DX9.0b...

Try DX8.1 first.

Thanks... I would expect so with a Ti4200... my XFX GF4 Ti4200 is enabled also... but it is the GF2 and GF4 MX 400 cards I am wondering about.
