Anyone have any suggestions for me? I just bought and installed a Radeon 9800 pro. When I go into the settings it says that that the graphics accerlation is turned off, however it is on in the Bios. When I try to turn it on in the settings, I reboot and they are still off! I have a Asus A7v333 mobo and I could find no jumper that affects the AGP slot. Help, I'm at a loss.

Did you update your BIOS/AGP/IDE/etc... drivers?

OK first of all, AGP doesnt have anything directly to do with hardware acceleration. Not being able to turn up hardware acceleration does not mean your "AGP wont work." Obviously the slot works, because youre getting a video signal out of it.

Secondly, no, the BIOS update will not update those devices he listed. It updates *shocker* the BIOS! Your chipset has drivers for the devices it controls.

Did you install the newest Catalyst drivers (4.6)? I hope you didnt use the CD that came with your card, those will be outdated.

What was your old graphics card? Was it made by Nvidia? Did you run a detanator cleaner to remove all the old drivers from your system?

I did not use a detanator cleaner to remove any old drivers. Can you recommend one? And yes, my old card was an Nvidia Ge Force 4 Ti4200. Would that have something to do with the problem? Thanks...

Use that utility and see if it helps.

OK, Thanks. I'll give it a go tonight and post back to let you know if it worked. Will I need to reinstall the drivers or anything? Thanks.
