Hello!
I was recently browsing the Asus site for driver updats and noticed that under the "utilities" section there was driver drive called "AMD AHCI Driver V3.2.1540.35".
I have never updated this, and I do use AHCI seeing as I have SSDs.
I simply need to know what the update will do and what purpose it serves.
Or if there are any patch notes.
My MOBO is a ASUS M4A87TD EVO.

Solution
It would not damage anything to just download and install the driver. Probably some bug fix with somebody's third party hardware.

Would there be any way to check to see if I have in-fact already installed said updates?

Yeah, there was no problem with the device.
I was simply looking through the latest drivers omy MOBO page and noticed that I had never installed it.

Thanks SO much for the tip tecmo34! I was about to return the mobo. Even ASUS support told me it must be defective. I love these forums! Someone almost always has the answer (they're out there!)
