Hi everyone,

My desktop rig is DIY, and currently running Dell's OEM version of Windows 7 SP1 Professional 64-bit.

My motherboard is ASUS Z87 Pro. I have 2 hard drives installed in this rig : 1 x Crucial MX100 256gb ; 1 x Western Digital Black 1tb.

When I check my BIOS settings, the motherboard shows all the SATA port as having AHCI interface:
http://

However, when I check on Windows 7, it displays my 2 drives as having SCSI interface:
http://

Is this normal or not ? If not, what should I do to make sure my 2 hard drives are running SATA 3 ?

Please help me out, thanks a lot for whoever answers me solve this.

Hi

Since you are runing a Dell OEM Windows 7 on non Dell Hardware the 'SCSI' may be a result of Dell tweaked drivers

My Device Manager report on Disk Drives does not add SATA to end of the hard drive / SSD Make & model

You would need a report of someone with a Dell PC & Dell Windows 7 to see if the Device Manager dispay is normal or not

but I would not worry about it.
They can not be SCSI interface as cable & plugs are different from ATA & SATA

If your SATA 3 hard drives are plugged into the SATA 3 ports on the motherboard they will be SATA 3
