i use a program called WinISO. shareware its not much good cauz it limits you to 100mb, but u know there is a crack out there.

very easy to use.

If you want to copy the game CD to your hard drive to um...help the CD load faster, then run an image file to the hard drive in Clone CD, and then use Daemon Tools to emulate a CD-ROM so you can load the CDs and make your computer think you have the game CD in the drive.

Currently using this with Black & White, Ghost Recon, Tony Hawk 2, and another game that I'm forgetting. Works beautifully.

I'd do that buy my kenwood true-x is probably faster than my hard drive. (check out my sys specs and look at the hdd). I'm having trouble using blind read, i'll try again tonight to make a backup of my diablo game disc.

do a search ( www.cdrinfo.com) for CLONYXL install the game and then run clony it will determine the proper settings for making a backup and will pass those settings to clonecd if it is open .. also take a look at www.gamecopyworld.com for tips software etc etc

I just had to give it some time. And change the cd reading speed to 72x min 72x max. Now it cruises right along.

I dunno, it is an amazing drive. You just gotta get used to not being able to hear your cd-rom drive when you put a cd in or whatever. It's weird at first, but u get used to it. I don't think it's any faster than my old drive but it defiently spins slower.

nods

even though we are reaching then end of the line for pure CD-ROM drives for computers, the need is still there with the next gen of dvd/cd drives.

There's a catch with Diablo2. My Plex 161040 will copy it 1:1, but the TOC can only be read in the Plex. My sony burner and Kenwood reader won't even recognize it.

Yet, if I burn the play disk with Clonecd and my sony USB drive, it works just fine 1:1. Even with my laptop toshiba 24x.

Good ole' msft making deals with Plextor/Yamaha. Ca$$$$h talks?
