AI Suite 3 & Asus EZ Update [Z87 Sabertooth] - Won't Update BIOS

Hi All,

I am experiencing some problems using the EZ Update feature to update my BIOS on the z87 Sabertooth, through AI Suite 3.

Going through the update process, checking for updates, downloading, installing, rebooting, all goes fine. Once I've restarted my PC, it does not recognize a new version of the BIOS and EZ Update simply wants to download and install the same update that I installed before restarting. I am currently running version 1007 [May 17th 2013] and it wants to install version 1504.

I thought I was up to date when I did this after building my PC but apparently it never took effect, as I went back to check for updates when I realized my AI Suite 3 UI is entirely different than that shown by every review or guide regarding the software I have seen, and that perplexes me too. I see nothing regarding four way optimization which I was looking into using as I was having some difficulty overclocking my CPU through the BIOS.

Can anyone shed some light on why I cannot update my BIOS and why my AI Suite 3 seems to be a different UI / version from that shown everywhere else? Thanks.

Hi,
For updating the BIOS, I'd use the EZ Flash utility in BIOS. Download the desired BIOS version from http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&m=SABERTOOTH+Z87&hashedid=gD1HelDX8lh3WSpG
As for the AISuite, you can find at the same link several versions (under Utilities).

I've updated the utilities to the latest versions and the UI still doesn't look the same, which is why I was stumped. Thanks though. I ended up updating from a USB drive I was just curious as to why the software wasn't working the way it should.

You're welcome.
Hard to say why not working. However, the EZ Flash method is safer.
