AIM Triton away message

In the previous version of AIM, I was able to backup all my away messages by searching for "iamgone" in regedit, then backing it up to disk. I am unable to do this in the new version of AIM called Triton. I have tried creating dummy away messages with unmistakeable keywords in them then searcing for that keyword in regedit. I was unable to locate where exactly this new version stores away messages.

Anyone able to offer any help with this? I currently have about 350 away messages that I've been saving over the course of about 3 years, I'd hate to get rid of them all 😉

Thanks in advance.

I would speak to an "upper level" techie at AOL about this. While you have him (or her) and they help you find your stuff (hopefully), ask the person if you can go back to the old version in order to get your old stuff without killing them.

Well, upgrading from prior versions to the one before Triton was easy enough, they all stored away messages in the "iamgone" registry location. So all I would do is upgrade to the new AIM version, then export just the "iamgone" folder and it worked.

Seems that the new Triton version does not store away messages in the "iamgone" folder, or anywhere else in the registry for that matter. I still have my away message backup and I still use the older version of AIM for the sole purpose of figuring out how to carry over all those away messages.

I know I will want to upgrade eventually, however, because in order to transfer files to a buddy on your buddy list, the sender and recevier need to have identical versions of AIM.
