Hello guys , i just build my first kinda " high-end" gaming PC but i don't know why decided to read about the parts after ordering them and so i got an AIO instead of basic air cooler ( e.g Arctic Freezer 34 Espors Duo , Noctua , beQuiet etc )

So my choice was the ASUS ROG STRIX LC II 280 and day after ordering the parts i started reading about AIO's and the leak chances , pump failures so i got paranoid as i also got RTX 3070 TUF GAMING again ASUS ....

https://rog.asus.com/cooling/cpu-liquid-coolers/rog-strix-lc/rog-strix-lc-ii-280-argb-model/ - the AIO

My question is is this AIO a good choice as ROG STRIX LC 360 is in the A Tier list here in the forum so i presume LC II 280 also should be an A Tier AIO. its like 189 dollars in Amazon,Newegg which is equivalent of 400 leva here in Bulgaria which is a lot

My 2nd question is are the leak chances real of the AIO's as i read that the newer AIO's or should i say the modern ones are now even better and the chances of leaks are pretty small close to zero ?

Please be honest and help my paranoia haha

Thanks in advance to anyone who gives his/her opinion !

Expensive, and not exactly blowing out its competition for as much as it costs... it's there to milk Asus fans.

AIOs are not leak proof, but leak resistant.
Other than very rare, I don't think anyone really knows the actual leak chance(%), and the user can up the odds if mishandling one.

I thought I should also add that a couple years ago, I bought an Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora 360 for ~230USD.
Pretty pricey too, but you have the option to expand, refill, and service the loop with this one, and it's full copper, so corrosion is a non-issue.
The Asus alternatives cost at least as much, and what do they have?

Well its my first AIO so i only checked the product page in ASUS website so for that money from what ASUS says its this :

  • Seventh Gen Asetek pump delivers exceptional cooling and minimal noise with an operating range starting at 840 rpm.
  • ROG Axial-tech radiator fans provide optimized airflow and static pressure.
  • Individually addressable RGB lighting on the NCVM-coated pump cover and the radiator fans conveys a sleek, modern design.
  • Aesthetic perfectly complements ROG motherboards to bring out the best of your build from center stage.
  • Reinforced, sleeved tubing offers increased durability.
😀

The most common occurring leaks are at the 4 barbs connecting everything, not the tubing.
After that, it's probably users accidentally puncturing the radiator and doing bends with the loop that are too sharp.

It should be fine, but sometimes crap happens.

I think what's more important is that you have a backup cooler on hand for when the AIO starts giving you trouble - and they inevitably do.
