Hello all,

I am getting a Swiftech H220 AIO to cool my 4790k CPU and the NZXT H440 case to be the new home of my power house. I have some questions regarding what the best mounting options and fan orientation as this is my first liquid cooler and build...

1) Should I mount the radiator on the front or should it be mounted top of the case?
Seems like majority or people mount the radiator on the top of the case, however I have heard some stories that a front mount equals better cooling for the NZXT.
I was planning on using my fans in a pull configuration (pulling air out of the case or pulling air in) around the radiator (to prevent dust buildup) Although if I do a Front mount guess that would not matter due to the dust catch.
Relevant specs:
Case: NZXT H440
Cooler: Swiftech H220
x1--Corsair AF quiet edition 140mm
x2--Corsair AF Quiet Edition 120mm
x2—Noctua NF-F12 120mm (was going to mount on the radiator)
Another concern with a Front mount was my Graphics card, its big a r9 290x Sapphire tri-x. I have to remove some drive bays as is. Would this interfere with tubing of the H220? (Especially if mounted in front)

All thoughts, opinions and justifications will be very useful.

Thanks All!

Typically the front of the case is open to a better air flow solution due to it being in the front -- out in the open.

But the H440 can use any extra airflow it can get. So a front mount radiator wouldn't be a bad idea in your case (pulling air in) the only problem you might run into would be tubing length.

Hi, Thank you for the answer!
So would you suggest, the front as intake with the radiator, and the top and back as exhaust, pulling air out?
