Question AIO Gurgling occasionally

Hi everyone,

I've recently purchased an Arctic Liquid freezer II 240 water cooling block at my local retail store.

After I've installed it, and started up the pc, it made this long gurgling noise. I thought it was just the water sloshing, but ever since it keeps gurgling every 60-90 minutes or so.

Cooling performance isn't where I expected it to be either. I'm having an AMD Ryzen 3700x processor in a Cooler Master MB500 case with the radiator mounted to the front, where it blows air out of the case. I have 4 more case fans 2 in push 2 in pull configuration. The computer idles at around 38 degrees and in every day workloads sometimes spikes up to 72 C. This is similar to the cooler I've used before which is an Arctic 33 Penta air cooler.

So my 300 watt TDP AIO performs roughly the same as the 150 watt TDP air cooler which is a bit weird. (Even though I've already refitted and repasted the cooler's contact unit)

Factoring in the gurgling-whirring sound the AIO makes, is it possible that this product is defective?
I've just installed this today, so I'm thinking about returning it.

What do you think? Is this behavior normal?

Thank you in advance for your help.

A little gurgling is normal for a new cooler while it works out the air bubbles.

The fan curve is probably the culprit if I had to guess. 72 C is not high enough to trigger higher RPMs by default but try adjusting it until you're comfortable with the noise/temp ratio.

Thx for the info.
I had set the fan curve to 100% when the cpu reaches 70C so. I lowered it to 65 now, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm also thinking about flipping the fans around to pull configuration. The case's airflow isn't the best ATM.

If you have the Rad mounted in the front of the case like I do.

I have a Corsair H150i Pro.

The fans should be set to intake so its blowing cool air over the rad as its coming into the case.

I flipped the fans to intake mode, which pretty much fixed the case's airflow.
Also it truns out I had some turd of a thermal paste which I applied in my infinite wisdom, instead of the stock mx-4.

Now temps are under 66C which is more in line with the capabilities of this cooler.

Thanks for the help guys!
