I am trying to cool a 14900K . Case is very well ventilated.

I don't think that the AIOs are a safe option because the pump could fail at some point whereas Air coolers last a lot longer, I have a few questions:

  • How long does an AIO last until the pump fails ? is it manufacturer dependent ? I am looking at Arctic Freezer III 420mm, The warranty on it is 6 years ... Will it last for 10+ years ?
  • Without physical inspection, Is checking the pump's RPM the only way to tell if it has failed ?
  • How often should I inspect the AIO to see if the pump has failed or not ?
  • Is the Arctic Freezer III 420mm the best AIO right now ?
  • How much better is the Arctic Freezer III 420mm when compared to the best CPU air coolers like Phantom Spirit 120 Evo or Frost Spirit 140 V3 ? How many degrees is Arctic Freezer III 420mm better ?

1A)Varies.
1B)No.
1C)It's possible, but not likely. Could pull it off if you store it away for some time every now and then...

2)Pretty much, as unreliable as that method would be by itself; there could be blockage in the loop and the pump rpm still show as operating normally.

3)It's supposed to be set it and forget it solution, so whenever you feel like it.

4)Going by reviews, it's one of the strongest options for Ryzen. Doesn't shine as much on Intel.

5A)Would need someone to have tested the air and AIO coolers side by side.
5B)Query is vague; better at what? Then there's the wild card of your personal fan curves, which can narrow/widen the gap, if any.

How many years have your AIOs lasted ?

How often do you check your AIO ?

Whats the best 420mm AIO for intel right now ?

How many years have your AIOs lasted ?
Still on a Fractal Celsius S36 from June 2020 and an Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora 360 from Oct 2020.
The Celsius S36 was the first I ever bought. Got a Celsius+ S28 about a year later as a backup.

How often do you check your AIO ?
Been well over a year, that's for sure.

Whats the best 420mm AIO for intel right now ?
No one really knows, with how the design of these cooler's point of contact causes it to fare better on one platform vs another, plus the scarcity of 420mm reviews... IDK.
I could maybe hazard a guess towards that Phanteks' 420D30...
