Air cooling on rampage 2 gene in lanbox lite

I plan on building a new computer with some existing parts. Also using this as an excuse to upgrade to the I7. I just want to make sure before i buy everything that i am able to get enough heat off the cpu to OC. I have looked at several shorter coolers, but Im still left wondering which ones will do the job.
i found this one off the TT site that this would work. though i cant seem to find reviews on it. the specs are 126(L) x 71(W) x 70(H) mm. or was it nobody was selling it.

anyway i also found the gemini 2 s which is a little wider and longer. though they dont make a i7 version of it. does that matter? Ive read forums that go both ways whether its ok if you use other intell coolers not specificaly designed for the I7. which from what i could tell, after a couple hours in Fry's opening boxes, is just the back plate and mounting. which isnt attached to the Gemini in the box. Oh, somebody at Fry's also said the Gemini wouldnt work.

I gues i need to know
Can i use older coolers? ie 775, fits all
Any ideas on a cooler that is around the size of the Thermal take cooler above?
anybody use the TT one above?

It seems the Thermalright is wanting to give the mainstream sector a try. They have dominated the gamer, enthusiast and overclocking market when it comes to air-cooling. Coolers like the Ultra-120 line-up has reigned pretty much supreme for over 3 years or so. Now they are wanting to do the seem in the mainstream market. Recently releasing a new brand labeled CoCaGe (Computer Gaming Gear).

The reasons I suggest this CPU Cooler are that it is made by ThermalRight & the Mounting Hardware (you will not have to go through the hassle with push-pin mounting).

Thx Overshocks i just noticed the size of that one i dont understand Frostytechs dimensions so i'll pull it up on Newegg.

i have the box with me right now cuz i use it, it reads 125mm length x 104mm width x 155mm height, if it will fit it'll be awesome because this thing dropped my temps 20C down (was using stock cooler before).
also i dnt think it will have trouble on the mobo , just the case

i have antec 900 case it fits good, ur case is SMALL so unfortunately i dnt think it'll fit
did u purchase the case already? because then u can change up

It's too tall i cant change the cASE to anything much bigger because i am building this so i can take it carry-on when i fly to Japan.

If it was me, I'd undervolt the i7 and keep the temps low. Hate to say it this way, but do you need an i7? If you need the crunching ability of the i7 go for it, but it's not a chip for a tiny case or a small cooler.

Don't think the case you are looking at is even close to providing the airflow an i7 needs.
