Hi ppl.
Ok relating to some of you who said the cpu fan blows inward on hs while some maintain that it draws air out through hs, I tried using a joss stick to find a direction and I think the cpu actually blows the air onto the heatsink. But I'm talking about my celeron. Is it the same for all or is it only on this celerons' that intel does this way?

Every CPU fan I've known blows air downward, towards the CPU.

That said, Last time I saw a HS review which tried flipping the fan over (it was a review for a ThermalRight SI-97), the temps were exactly the same either way, so I don't think it actually makes a great deal of difference - although depending on the design of the case/mobo and general airflow it might have some effect.

Try it both ways and monitor your temps if you're curious, but if your System works fine, then don't worry about it

The only H/S fans that I know of that pull air through the heatsinks wrer the older Alpha models. Havent heard of them in a while though. They were the best in the old P3slot 1 and socket 370 days.

I aint signing nothing!!!

Air is allways blown onto heatsink.

In that way air is more likely to make contact, where'as the other way air could miss the heatsink in places.

Want to know the correct way?

Anyway it works. Period.

if it blows down....good, if it blows away from the CPU....good. If it blows nowherer near the CPU at all but still keeps your CPU cool enough....good.

who cares as long as it works? if you are too hot buy a new HSF, dont worry about ari flow direction.

Actually used to own an Alpha Pal-6035 with my t-bird 1ghz, the setup was suck... but better temps with the blow... guess it's better to be blown, than to suck.
