this heatsink may be a bit overkill for my AMD Athlon 5000+ BE but still, doesnt hurt to add more cooling ;)
i wonder if i could get it to 4GHZ...

It's already 57db on load. While not exactly bad, it's louder than many of the coolers that also cools better.

well for peeps looking @ this cooling thinking great something to keep my fu**ing hot as fire cracker extremem intel cpu quads cool ill laugh as this cooler i posted here was for peeps mainly with dual cores as if it keeps the extremem black boxed intel quads cool , it will then keep the dual cores freezing !! there fore say if you got a wolfdale eo E8600 you proberly can get an outstanding overclock. Well its up to the testers to purchase and release the scores baby!! Also for that link posted i would refer to it as it shows the extreme freezer @ 52 c idle which is completely balls same as other i wonder wtf type of cpu there using that for scores on as even the crappyiest cpu cooler i can get for my 775 dont even leave mine @ 52 + idle so them scores seem abit odd. anyways enjoy!

Aren't those heatpipes too long to conduct? :sarcastic:

Too long?! No longer or shorter than the heatpipes on the Zalman 9700.

The DuoOrb is bolted to the mobo, no crappy Intel push pins. Of course, this would require you to install the DuoOrb before installing the mobo otherwise you would have to remove the mobo.

yea plus i use to own a dual core amd 2 black edition 5000+ tried many coolers and the one that made the best impression (didnt look all hat but was excellant) was the artic cooler 7 for amd2. Anyways artic always sell there products at an affordable price - you notice the termaltake price compared to the artic , lolz i think mine is a better cooler (just cause you posted up a reveiw of performance that shows the thing @ 52 idle which i bet most of you ant even got near that on idle) and it also differs in make of mobo thro cooling, i would say this artic may be the ticket peeps been looking for!. Im not saying this as a guaruntee or stating artic are the best out but for perfomance and cooling on my behalf you cant get any better. (and ive reveiwed and tested loads of coolers lolz)

Best regards in youre cooling comrades.

with my crappy golden orb 2 heatsink from thermaltake, my 5000+ stays at around 37C idle and around 48 max load. cooling aint much of a problem in my transformer case either. i think i can live without this new fancy lookin heatsink. maybe if i upgrade to a phenom Quad core and do a little OCing but at the moment, my 3.2GHZ OC dual core is doin just fine for my gaming needs:)

artic cooling is very cheap compared to thermaltake though as you said. the only reason why thermaltake has their expansive prices is becuase they are THERMALTAKE.
and their fancy light effects maybe... :p

happy OCing yall
