Hi Guys,

Not a new build but i have recently got a new case and cooler (h65)

Just wondering how to do my airflow. I have a 6 fan control and 2 internal temp monitors to keep an eye on things (as well as using specy for cpu temp etc..)
cpu is 3770k i7
1 sdd and 1 sata
gtx660
tagen dual engine 700w psu
blu ray drive
16gb 1600 ram (4 x 4)

So i have been running 1st rig for just over a month and i havent been that impressed with cpu temp. It idles around 40 , which considering that what i was getting in my old smaller fan with a very cheap air cooler, not that impressed.

So come up with few ideas. See the pics and let me know what you think

1) Current build (also have 2 120mm on the side as intake, but i am removing these as they dont seem to make any difference to temps!!)

2) trying to get as much cool air onto the cpu radiator as possible

3) going with the push/pull on the rad.

Thoughts/opinions welcome!

Or any other set up can think of, i have 2 spare 120mm to add if needed

shut down the 2 fans in the roof and see what happens when you draw more air through the radiator. , no way to mount a fan higher in the front of the case to blow air across the ram and cpu power circuitry?

the first picture is the way you want the air to go........ ( less the roof fans ).

turning the top fans off makes no real difference to the cpu temp, does however raise my internal temperate by about 2 degrees (c not F)

im going to take off my 2 side vents as they are good corsair fans, and replace the top 2 fans with them. Then i might try and fit 1 of the button in the bottom right pulling in?

And i cant fit a fit infront of my ram 🙁 no room

Try taking off the side cover and see if your temps improve. That would tell us if you had bad airflow.

actually take the side panel off and stick a room fan in the opening. if temps drop by MORE then 5C you probably have an airflow issue. if there is no change then changing the fans won't help.

I suspect, if you're having temp issues, the problem is the h65. The h65 is actually a pretty poor closed loop cooler. so you can't really expect much from it. besides... 40C isn't that bad. now if you said 70C... at idle... then we'd have a problem.
