I have a haf 912, the regular airflow is OK, but I want more case fans. I was considering getting 2 more of the same fans that come with the case. So 4 x 120. And I was also considering taking out the stock fans and replacing them with 2 high quality 200mm fans. So 2 x 200. What so you guys think I should do?

Solution
I just don't think the additional cost is warranted over 140mm/120mm for the average box. And many are of questionable quality. If you do want to go 200mm I would buy Phanteks.

If you go 120mm I would get Corsair AF fans. Although if you have thick dust filters that you don't clean often on the intakes put Corsair SPs there instead and the AFs on exhaust.

But I think adding fans would make my system quieter, as I could reduce GPU fan speed, and my GPU fans are louder than case fans

they get noisy at around 70-71

i have a r9 380 and it never goes over 62 c in temp on load so you need to made thes setings in crimson so fan will run and wont go full speed at this temp under games in general parameters the overdrive made shure tha fan show 0 % then ( auto ) at idle the other should see desactivated ,then press the game it show in the panel and do the same settings as the genral on dont forget to apply to each of them after you made the change and recheck temp and fan speed .

I don't quite understand what you are saying but I made a custom fan curve so my GPU runs quieter but hotter

I would have to agree with your original idea of adding 2 more fans to improve temps. 2x120mm is what I would consider to be the minimum airflow for the average gaming rig, with 3 or 4 fan configs being optimal. Installing 2 front, 1 rear, and 1 top would probably be the best. If you don't mind spending the money for 4 brand new high quality fans like Noctua or Cosairs you will notice improved temps, quieter performance, and they will last a very long time.

I probably wouldn't do 200mm fans. 140mm would be ideal, otherwise 120mm.

My case doesn't support 140mm fans, but just wondering why you don't recommend 200mm fans
