I upgraded my system to an Audigy2 ZS andAIW 9600 (not Pro).
The Catalyist software refused to install because parts
of older versions were still present despite my efforts to
remove them.
The old XP was taking a long time to load. Time for reformat.
I freed up a spare drive and installed XP Pro from scratch.
Actually a number of installs as it took a while to get
Fedora Core 2 and XP to coexist.
The result - the AIW 9600 is alive and well. Media Center
makes capture files that Nerovision almost always accepts.
The one exception would burn only if I didn't insert chapters.
It appears my previous problems with getting newer versions of
ATI software to work properly are caused by defects in the upgrading
procedures and software. The ATI cat-uninstaller doesn't.
