Aliens are ruining my connection....

...seriously, the aliens that came pre-installed on my Alienware Aurora R3 are making trouble by dropping my connection every few seconds or so. I've tried to kill them off by doing a clean install of Windows 7 , running all of the Dell diagnostics, having Spectrum analyze everything on their end and re-installing drivers. Yet the problem continues! So it seems the aliens must be hiding in the ethernet controller. I'm not an accomplished alien hunter so how can I be sure that's the problem, and if it is, how do I go about replacing the onboard card? These guys have been getting on my nerves for about a month or so. Where is Sigourney Weaver when you really need her?

have you tried diferent cables to router, router to wall?

Are you using Dell provided network drivers or generic drivers (directly from the vendor)?

Fortunately, I was able to solve my own problem right after I posted. Your solution, though, was right on the money. Changed the cable, all is well now. Thanks!
