Alienware 0H869M cpu upgrade.

I know all the lists show that it can only support i7 processors officially. I have a i7 920 in it now.
My question is would I be able to upgrade my cpu to a Xeon w3680. My bios version is A11. I’m just unsure of if it’ll work.
Spend the $60 usd on the Xeon W3680
Or spend $150 usd on a i7-980x...
and the Xeon performs better on paper

I wasn’t looking to spend that much... I was looking for the cheap way out lol. But everything else on it is fine
