Howdy all.
So title says it all. It's an Alienware 17 R3 with random charging issues.
What I've done this far is try two different adapters, the original 180 watt and the 230 watt.
Both show as unknown in the bios.
I've also disconnected the cmos to reset it. No change.

I've changed out the DC power Jack, no change and looking at the connectors on the MoBo both battery and DC Jack are clean, no scorch marks at all.
Also note, when plugged in and it's not actually charging, the power doesn't diminish BUT the CPU voltage is 0.700 instead of the normal 1.300+ which I can remedy with throttle stop unchecking the prochot option. Throttle stop not running and not plugged in runs the CPU at normal 1.300+ voltage

Note that when it's "randomly charging" legit. CPU voltage is normal plugged in and the throttle stop isn't required to run programs at full speed.

So I'm curious, could it be the charging circuit and if so am I able to replace it without the entire MoBo or is there something else the community could suggest?
I'm at my wit's end with this guy's!!
