Hi there,
I've had this intermittent issue for some time now. I have resolved it in the past with disconnecting the battery and holding down the power button, attaching the battery ribbon and powering back on I was able to charge my Alienware 17 r4. Now it's not working as well. I've done it a few times now and my batter is plugged in and not charging, and when I boot my laptop I'm getting the ac error, please use a dell charger yada yada. I checked the pin, it seems fine, I don't know what it is. I think this explains my loss of performance when I Was gaming sometime back, not sure if its the ac adapter, the connection or my mother board?
Some help would be great, this is an older laptop and i really don't want to be spending money to buy a new batter, then connection, then adapter with process of elimination so if anyone has any solutions I could try that would be very helpful.
