Hi! I just bought a very fast SSD. I want to add it to my 18 and move windows to it. However, the original drive I have installed is very slow. Will it be safe to keep both drives running like that? Will there be bottlenecking? I just plan to leave games in the slow drive and Windows to the fast drive. Is that a good idea?. Thanks

What, exactly, is on the current drive? The OS and everything else?

How much space is consumed on the current drive?

You can't move "only windows" to the new SSD.
All or nothing.

There are multiple ways to do this, but we need some specifics.

What is the new SSD? Size/make/model.

The current drive has everything. Is the only one installed right now. The current drive is 1TB. It has 166GB left. The new SSD is a crucial MX500 and it has 1TB sir.

Assuming your system can have both the current drive and the new MX500 connected, you do a direct clone.

You'll need to remove some stuff from the current drive.
Get the actual consumed space to below 800GB.

Then we can do a direct clone from HDD to SSD.

Later, we can maybe move some things arond, from the new SSD back to the old HDD.
But you can't split things in the process of the clone operation. All or nothing.

But having installed a very slow drive with a fast SSD will cause problems? Is it ok to run the pc like that?
