[SOLVED] Alienware 25 AW2518HF doesn't go above 60hz

For some context, I have a GTX 1080 and am using a DP Cable. Whenever I go up to 144 hz the screen is unusuable with the amount of screen tearing, and at 240 the signal from the DP cable doesn't detect. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Did you get a 3rd party cable? If so, you need to make sure you get a certified cable, otherwise it may not meet the spec, which commonly leads to issues like this.
