Hi everyone, actually I have an Acer Predator 27 inch 240hz 1080p monitor, and I thinking to jump to the ultrawide 3418 (600$) second hand. but I don't know if is a good improve.

the rest of my rig is:

i7 6700k
rtx 2070
32gb
ssd.

Worth the jump?
I need to change my VGA?
My cpu is still good for this Resolution?

Thank You.

Solution
The Alienware 3418dw with 2K (3440 X 1440 WQHD) resolution is definitely and upgrade from the 1080P.
Many users cannot tell the difference between 100Hz and 240Hz, so that will be up to you to decide.
I, personally, would go for the 2K 100Hz instead of the 1080P 240Hz.

And do you think I need more vga power to move that 100Hz at that resolution? I know I going to get a better colors and definition, but what about Refresh. also idk if this monitor its better than others ultrawides in the market, I check on dell and they have a new model, but is really expensive.

I said 2K but the Alienware 3418dw is closer to 4K display.
Consequently, the system will required more graphics power to handle the additional millions of pixels.
To play at 4K, you must be prepared to lower games visual settings considerably.

There could be better ultrawides in the market, you should look into what it is best for you...considering budget and system components.

The 3418dw is not really 4K, its 3440 x 1440. Your GPU should be fine for 100fps for most games. RDR2 and AC Odyssey may struggle to run at 100fps so you will have to turn down some useless game settings such as volumetric clouds in AC Odyssey. But anyways you do not need more than 60FPS in those games as they are not fast paced. Fast paced games like CSGO, Wolfeinstein and many others will easily hit 100fps. You can always overclock your GPU for some performance boost.

I have an OCed 2080Ti and I get 100+FPS in fast paced games and 60+FPS in AC Odyssey with max settings at 4K.

I will take higher resolution and higher quality (IPS) over higher Hz but that's a personal opinion since I use my monitor to watch 4KHDR Netflix. There isn't much difference between 120Hz and 240Hz. Your CPU will be fine as its your GPU that will be the bottleneck at higher resolutions.
