Hey Guys,

I dont know if there are many people here using Alienware cases, but i thought id try and ask.
Im looking to change my default 1000w dell psu in there purely because its causing heat issues for my GPU as it doesnt have many ways of getting the heat out. Its only got a single fan on the front of the PSU which doesnt help the GPU fans pointing down on to it.

tell me if im wrong but i heard that the PSU fan takes the GPU heat out of the machine? or helps with it atleast.

Anyway my main concern is Alienwares have an MIO board at the bottom of the machine that controls all the lights of the machine, but it has a 10 pin connector for the PSU to connect to it. I cant seem to find a 10 Pin connector on a PSU.

Here is an image.

Id love to keep this case as it was given to me by a friend and also i dont want to haul all the stuff out of the machine now to put into a new case. also Cost of it all.

So any advice would be truly appreciated thankyou:)

Solution
If you look at the PSU and where its vent holes are located you're not going to find an off the shelf PSU that is constructed that way.

It's a custom PSU designed specifically for that computer case and its air flow needs.

Thanks a bunch for the reply:)

i take it that means thats a no to changing it then? 🙁

Thanks a lot for the support, really appreciated:)
