Alienware Auroara 7500 vs Gateway FX530XG

Hi, im just stuck deciding which is better comp for me, the gateway FX or the alienware auroara 7500. I will be using it for gaming for games like Counterstrike source and others. these are the specs for them, the alienware doesnt include the monitor or speakers which I will buy for both from another website merchant(so add $260 and they will both equal) but the gateway, i just included the 19 inch monitor and logitech X 140 speakers from them . they equal to a total of my $1700 budget including a monitor , speakers and everything.(confusing lol but just look at the specs)

The Gateway has a better CPU and video card. The Alienware is really overpriced given it's running an AMD X2 5200+ CPU. You could build the Alienware with the AMD X2 5000+ Black Edition that you can easily overclock for for around $1000 to $1200 depending on some of the components, e.g., case, PSU.

My mistake on the video card Agree, could build a better machine for a lot less money but if the OP wants to buy, the Gateway would be better for the money

Will the ALienware mobo last longer?As in if a new proccessor comes out in like a year or so will that mobo fit the socket type or will they change it?Im probably just gunna get the alienware for i already ordered that gateway on the 10/13 and they delayed TWICE, i was supposde dto get it on 11/6 but after the second delay its supposded to arrive 12/14, lol they could delay that too, For Gateway service sucks and the staff on the phone are dumb, plus ima buy a better monitor than the gateway monitor, but the Alienware isnt a super bad choice compared to the FX right?

The Alienware mobo should handle to new AMD quad core CPUs so you could upgrade. The problem with that computer is that it is really expensive for an X2 5200+ processor. Suggest you go to newegg.com and create a wish list of the parts in the Alienware just to see how much more your spending. If you don't want to put it together your self, you could likely get a local shop to build it for $75 to at most $100.
