Question Alienware Aurora R4 - Will not power on

Hey everyone!
I had an issue with my R4, where it would not POST, and it seemed like a corrupted BIOS was causing the issue. (Single long beep).

I found an exact replacement for the motherboard, but after replacing the motherboard, now it will not power up at all. When I press the power switch, literally nothing at all happens.

I've tried jumping the power pins to see if the power switch itself may be a factor but nothing happens.

I have tried running BIST, and it seems the PSU is working. If I short pins 4 and 5 on the PSU it behaves like the BIST and spins the fans, and also provides SATA power to the optical drive etc, but it doesn't actually boot at all.

I was checking the MIO board for an LED to show that there is power going to the motherboard, but I can't seem to see one. I'm rightly stumped here.
I tried my old motherboard again, and now that wont power up at all either.
Real head scratcher!
Thanks in advance everyone!
PJ

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You could try and source a donor PSU from a friend or neighbor who owns a reliably built 650W(or higher) PSU and then try and see if you can power up the system. The connectors on the motherboard are ATX 12v standard and not proprietary like the other Dell prebuilts. Might I ask which slots are populated on the motherboard? Have you tried working with one stick of ram on either of the ram slots?

Thanks so much. :)
I'll try and source a PSU, was thinking the same!
I have tried all manner of configurations, with and without RAM, and absolutely nothing unfortunately.

Hey again,
So I tried with a 650w PSU and absolutely nothing.
The last component I haven't accounted for is the CPU, so I ordered a direct replacement.
Bit of a funny one, hopefully that sorts it, after that I would be totally unaware of what could be wrong.
