My friend purchased an Alienware Aurora R7, and from day one, it gets loud when playing any demanding games
-- specs --
i7-8700 / 16 GB / GTX 1070 Ti / 850 watt PSU (mfg & model unknown) / 16GB optane / 2 TB HDD
bios: 1.0.21 2/25/2020
* note: cpu and gpu are both air cooled. Some variants of this system apparently use water cooling.
When I google this problem, it becomes very apparent that this is a design defect of this case. R5, R6, R7, etc, have many users complaining of fan noise.
My question: What fan(s) are responsible for this? The PSU fan of system fans? Is there any solution to this problem. The forums state that updating the BIOS will appropriate adjust the fan curve to a less audible level, but her BIOS is already dated 2/25/2020, and the problem persists. Thank you for your help.
