So I've been doing a fair bit of research on 120hz monitors primarily for gaming. I have no real interest in 3d and I am purely interested in finding the best 22-24" monitor that has the lowest input lag, response time and is capable of 120hz with a good picture quality.

Comprehensive review of the Alienware monitor:

Comprehensive review of the LG monitor:

Various test results to compare the two monitors:

It appears that the LG is the quickest monitor for gaming however it is beaten in picture quality by the Alienware. The question on my mind is how much picture quality would I be giving up when buying the LG when compared to the Alienware and how noticeable is the input lag on the Alienware as opposed to the next to 0 input lag the LG provides.

Personally..i'd get neither.

for 120hz (at decent price):

Asus VG236HE
Planar SA2311W
Samsung S23A950/A750

S23A950/A750 (expensive) > VG236HE (great price; glossy) = SA2311W (very good; matted)

The Asus VG236HE has up to 32ms of input lag which is pretty poor and the Samsung S23A950 suffers similar input lag issues. Both the AW2310 and W2363D have better ghosting results too. I haven't looked into the Planar SA2311W so I'll go check it out, thanks for the suggestions.
