Hi guy, so I'm new here and I have question.
So I own 4 year old Alienware M15X, I use my Alienware M15X as PC replacement and now I decide to upgrade everything, so I've upgrade 1TB HDD + 16GB RAM Corsair Vengeance and I decide to upgrade Graphic card since the AMD Radeon 5000 can't keep up what I need and play.

So I'm now wondering and need some advice, can these Graphic card can handle on my Alienware M15X

Nvidia GTX 680M - 4GB GDDR5
Nvidia GTX 780M - 4GB GDDR5
Nvidia GTX 870M - 6GB GDDR5
Nvidia GTX 880M - 8GB GDDR5

Why I choose Nviida GTX, because I own Nvidia Shield and I want to use Shadow play to Stream game to Shield. 😀

Solution
There's no correction. The 780M and 880M use the same GK104 chip. Just the clocks are different.
The 780M has core lower clock as compared to the 880M.(771MHz vs 954 MHz). Its memory clock is the same.
The 870M is the GK104 as well, however it has a Streaming Multiprocessor(SMX) disabled, causing a dip in speed and memory bandwidth.

NOTE: If you want to quote, there are three ways:
1. Reply from the lower right.
2. While editing, use the quote button. (The man talking)
3. While editing, press <Ctrl> + Q, or use [ quote] and [ /quote] (without the spaces).
The other GPU's are just equipped with too much RAM to be viable. Such cards are even not that powerful as compared to the cheaper cards, just stacked with a lot of RAM to make the user's eyes pop(whoa, 8GB! AWESOME!! Let's get it!!).
The 780M is your best bet, depends on the resolution, but should be able to max settings out for a laptop screen.
(If you're in doubt, check out the benchmarks of the GTX 760, it's in the same league as the 780M).

Also, the 780M and the 880M are the same chip, just the 780M has a little lower clocks than the 880M.

If I may correction you mean the 870M and the 880M

I'm wondering if I put 870M and he 880M will it have over heating issue ?
