Alienware shut off won't turn on

My Alienware randomly shut off the other night while I was playing a game. It was plugged in. The power adapter cord was not lit up. I unplugged the adapter from the wall and plugged it back in. The light on the cable turns on but once I plug it into the computer it shuts off. The laptop does not turn on what so ever. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
