Alienware X51 R2

Hey guys

I picked up an alienware x51 R2 for really cheap off a friend and want to upgrade the video card.

I found a Asus Geforce GTX 660 2gb DirectCU II Edition on kijiji for $100. Would this fit the x51?

If not I'm going to go for this

As far as dimensions go, you should be ok as I believe the x51 can accomodate fullsized cards.

PSU-wise, I don't honestly know - but IIRC there's an external power brick that can be changed.

That being said, you should have a reference card (to blow the air out of the vents) like the MSI GTX 960 one you linked, rather than the dual-fan situation like the 660 given the compact nature of the case - you'd have additional heat not originally budgeted for in the chassis design.

I got a asus gtx670 direct cu mini for my x51 and I have to drill a hole in the bottom of the case to make space for the 6pin power to the gpu.
