after my old motherboard died, I decided to get an old one that gets the job done. So I then installed everything, double checked to make sure everything was connected correctly. I turned it on using two screwdrivers (don't have power SW yet) and it beeped three times. Turns out it was the ram, so I put one in and no more beeps. However, I still can't the the damn thing to post. I tried clearing the CMOS, disassembled and reassembled the whole thing with no luck. All fans are spinning up and I haven't seen any problems with the CPU or the socket. Plus the mobo is usable.

My specs are
D946GZIS mobo
500GB Western Digital HDD
Two 2GB 800MHz corsair ram
Intel Dual Core E2180 2GHz
750W Corsair PSU
Cooler Master V8
GeForce GTX 460 GPU

Hi, if you have frontal usb ports connected to the motherboard. Try unplugging them from the motherboard. That did the trick for me.

Just finished building my pc yesterday and i had the same problem. The frontal USB ports were the issue for me :)

This can be caused by miss conections or poor connection of front I/O USB ports, I believe it might even display a Q-code
Happened to me with a USB 2.0 ports.
