All ethernet ports taken up, do i buy an ethernet switch?

On my router all my ports on the back are taken up and i would like to use wired connection for my pc, should i buy an ethernet switch and do things that way?

Yes an Ethernet switch is what you need, and they are generally quite affordable. Look for one with 8 ports, and Gigabit ports so there is room to grow.
