Hello everybody,
So I've not changed a thing about my setup, all games used to run with no problems
Crashes happen completely random, and sometimes I would hear the last sound in the game for like 2 seconds repeating in a black background and sometimes not, it just sends me back to the desktop with no errors whatsoever.
The crashes happen in almost every game, and are not related to the time I've been playing at all, sometimes in 5mins and it might take hours

I installed the windows freshly after completely erasing my hard, and it's still the same.
I also blew the dust out of my case, but didn't take any component apart.

My specs :
CPU : I7 2600k @3.4GHZ
Mobo : Gigabyte Z68X-UD3-B3
GPU : EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB SC+ GAMING ACX 2.0+
RAM : x2 G.Skill RipjawsX - F3-12800CL9-4GBXL
PSU : EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 80 Plus

So 2 notes I have;
- My temps are pretty okay, CPU @~40-50 and GPU ~60 while gaming
- I just opened CPU-Z to get the exact model number of my RAM, and I noticed it says max bandwidth (800MHz) which is weird seeing that my RAM is 1600MHz

I just wanna know what kind of procedure should I do to test my system ? what might be the problem ?

Hopefully someone will answer as I'm sitting here hopeless 😀
Thanks a lot in advance :)

Hello Roon1967

Can you please try Increasing the Virtual Memory manually?

You can also check if any Windows Updates or automatically updated or obsolete graphics driver are causing the trouble. The first step in this should be to check and update the graphics driver. If that doesn't help or the latest version of the driver is already installed, try rolling it back to its previous version.

If the issue still persists, try Resetting Windows to Factory Settings and disabling the automatic updates right after the computer boots after the reset.

Please reply back with the results or of any further assistance is needed.

Cheers!! :)

Thank you so much for replying !

However the problem happened with a lot of different GPU drivers, I just reinstalled the windows yesterday and I got the newest driver installed.
For the windows, I already re-installed the whole thing, but I completely updated it .. to "reset to factory and not update" would be my last thing to try, because my internet really really sucks, and the windows updates take up to 6 hours or something and completely limits my internet usage throughout the process (I know it's literally terrible) 😀

As for "increasing the virtual memory" how much in my case should I put my initial and maximum ? as I have absolutely no idea what it even does 😀
And if there are any possible tests that I can preform straightaway, it would be much better, seeing that the crashes are actually random and it would be pretty hard to "test for errors" after applying any certain step (for example the increasing of the virtual memory) as the errors are inconsistent, and might take days to get out a crash or two

Thanks again, really appreciated <3

Hello again Roon1967

I think you have already tried almost all the straightforward tests that I could suggest you. Since none of them made any difference, you can try managing the virtual memory.

A detailed description along with the configuration process is given here.

In short, Virtual Memory (Pagefile) maintains system performance in case the processes require more memory than the available physical RAM has.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!! :)

Thanks for the reply 😀
But how much should I set my values(Initial and maximum) to ? Like having 8gb should I just put in 3gb as shown in the SS as my minimum or what is it dependent on ?

Thanks again :)

Hey again 😀

So I've done the paging, and still the crashes happen .. I've tried it over a day or something

Thanks in advance :)

Anyone can help please ._.

I've tried replacing my GPU with an old (working) GTX 550 TI, uninstalled the drivers using DDU and installed the newest drivers for the 550, restarted my PC and everything went downhill !
I experienced a couple of monitor flashes while browsing, but now they're gone
However for games I tested the following and the results :

- CS:GO >> had crashes every 15 seconds, it would freeze for 5 seconds with black screen, however while it ran it was super smooth with +200 FPS
- Metro 2033 Redux >> Crashes everytime in the menu (after 30 secs or something) and gives me a windows message saying "application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware"
- Metro Lastlight Redux >> It crashed after a minute into gameplay to desktop without any kind of error

Hopefully someone will help, thanks a lot :)
