Question ALL games FPS drop/Freezing

ASUS Prime a320m-k mobo
AMD Ryzen 3 2200g
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050ti
32gb DDR4 corsair vengeance LPX 3000mhz (running at 2133mhz due to mobo limit, push further and dies before OS load)
Corsair 550X PSU
250gb SSD - OS
1tb HHD - game storage
Windows 10 home
CPU and DRAM set to auto via AI Suite 3, no overclocking

Hey all, hoping you can help out a fellow gamer. I recently upgraded from 16gb to 32gb RAM and at the same time added the 1tb HDD, did a bit of cable management also.
Since then I can basically not run any games properly (via Steam). Games load up fine, play intro video etc, but as soon as I hit the menu I freeze or get a massive FPS drop. Effect seems to directly link to demand of game on system, high demand games it like it's frozen, low demand playable but so laggy. Game music and mouse respond normally.

High demand, SCUM, Warhammer 40k Inquisitor - CPU usage 86-100%, Memory usage 27%, GPU usage 20%. CPU running at 2800-3525 mhz, 56-60 degrees, 1.264-1.351v.
Medium demand, Valheim - CPU usage 25%, 17% memory, GPU 10%.
Low demand - Dorfromantik - playable, but with big lag.
If I ctrl, alt, tab to task manager the high demand games show as not responding.
GPU has latest drivers downloaded and latest BIOS driver installed too.

Any advice or fixes very gratefully received.

Update, swapped back in the old 16 RAM cards and it didn't affect the performance, so unlikely an issue with the updated RAM.
