The purpose of that door is so Lara can back track into the Libray
in case she forgets to get a key. Once Lara reaches the lower level,
there's a dark hallway with an alarm that goes off. At the far end of
that hallway is a switch that sets off the alarm I think.
As Lara is returning from that hallway, if she goes off towards
the far left corner (it's the near right corner from where she
first enters this area), and looks up, there's a climbable opening.
Lara needs to jump up, grab, then climb up the chute. From here
is a passageway that leads to the other side of the pink door
which opens automatically if I remember correctly.
