I posted this question before but got no response. So I will try again. I want an all in wonder for one reason. I want to send a high definition signal to my TV. Does the AIW support this? As in the component out three rca ypb type connection. Can any of you AIW owners tell me if the card supports this?

Thanks

I found some information on ATI's web site. Imagine that ;P
Looks like the 9700 pro and 9800 AIW's have the RGB connector. The 9600 AIW does not. The 9700 non pro AIW has the ability but requires you to buy an adapter. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is what resolutions are available with the RGB out. Can ayone tell me this? And how does it look?

Ok. Looking over the information I've found. It looks like the RGB connector is just an adapter that converts the DVI connector to RGB. Couldn't I just get the adapter and use it on my 9500 DVI out? I don't care that much for the other functions of the all in wonder. Using my computer as a digital VCR sounds good. But I don't think the AIW reads digital cable or satalite or have an RGB input. So it would have to be a low quality recoring. Might as well use my VCR if thats the case. Also why doesn't ATI use MPEG 4. MPEG 2 uses way too much space. The bummer is that on the ATI web site it says the HDTV converter is no longer available. Anyone know where I can get a DVI to RGB connector?

Ok. I looked again and found the adapter in another place. You can use this adapter on any 9500 and above. Maybe the 8500 also. It costs $29 plus $15 shipping. The shipping price pisses me off. This is one of the things that really turn me off about ATI. But I can't find it anywhere else. It's better than buying a new very expensive video card though. I also found a good web site on this topic http://www.mrmicro.net/joshua1/ This took me alot of time for me to research. I hope some of you can benefit from it.

I had to dig deep to find this thread. Just want to let anyone who is interested and has a HD big screen TV that this DVI to RGB converter is very nice. A huge improvement in picture quality over the TV out. It has some major issues with overscan though. We need more people using these and making complaints to ATI to fix this in thier drivers. ATI is really unbeatable right now. Not only do you get the fastest graphics and best visual quakity. You also get cool features like multiple output options like DVI and RGB. Not only that but you can have the monitor and TV or RGB outs displayed at the same time. Hell I can even go into the bios on my TV. Pretty dam nice. Thats saying alot for somone who really didn't like ATI at all.
