All my files have .LNK extiensions

All my files have changed to .LNK extensions, how do I change them back to what they are supposed to be. All my games, windows media player, have changed to this and I can't figure it out.

LNK files are usually shortcuts that lead to the executable files. You may have opened a executable file in some way and defaulted it so all exe files were to be handled the same way so they were all changed. The easiest way to fix it may be to create another user account and see if the files look regular if they do move your folders and files over. Then remove your old account.

See if File Association Fixer takes care of the problem. If it doesn't scan for virus-malware and try again. One other fix may be to manually associate each file type with the corresponding program.
