All my folders are write protected! Games etc. cant gain access to their own folders...

Hey.
Recently, after trying to launch the game Assetto Corsa from steam, it came up with a message saying "access to ... is denied". I then looked at the location, and saw that all the folders that i went through were marked as "write protected". I believe that this problem has caused a bit of issues for other applications as well, but i am not sure.

I have tried to uncheck the "write protection" box, but after opening up the folder again i can see it is still checked.

I have also tried to give myself access to the folders by giving my own user full access to both my harddrives and the folders in them, but without luck.

I hope you can help me :/

Hello,

Are your games installed on your system drive, in Program Files? I myself have had issues with stuff that's on the system drive.
Try taking ownership of the folders, and then giving yourself full access. Something else you could try is running the games as administrator.
